Signal Creative supports female artists living in regional and remote Australia, focusing on those who face the greatest barriers to creative opportunities.
We collaborate with participants and local community partners to create and sustain vibrant, relevant and accessible creative programs which build safety, respect and inclusion for women in public spaces.
Signal Creative facilitates community-led arts projects. Focusing on engaging women in the creation of collective and individual expression, the work explores personal interests, self-expression and identity.
Signal Creative was founded in 2017 by long time collaborators Emma Hoy and Caroline Wallace. Some Highlights include their AWMA award nomination for Diversity in Music, establishing the Girls Rock! Sydney program and taking a group of young Wellington women to perform at the Enlighten! Festival in Canberra.
Signal Creative was established to create safe all-female spaces where participants could begin, nurture and refine their creative passions in a supportive environment. We employ a large network of collaborating female artists nationally who bolster our programs by sharing their professional creative skills and life experience.
Signal's team supports participants in multiple artforms, amplify skills and build strength in:
Digital Storytelling and content creation
Audio & Video Production
Live Performance, music, singing, dance, movement & poetry
Design, costume & craft
In 2022 we celebrate our 5th birthday - Since 2017 we have delivered 41 free programs across Australia and this is just the beginning.
Signal Creative is a Registered Charity and a member of the Register of Cultural Organisations.
Signal Creative acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we work and live, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community. We pay respect to Elders past, present and emerging.
